Train tickets are set to soar again in January as inflation continues to bite the dreaded commute.
Some season tickets could rise by as much as £150, despite customer service and punctuality falling year on year.
It means passengers will have to be even smarter when it comes to saving money - including making the most of seat sales.
Right now, Northern is offering tickets for as little as 10p in a flash promotion.
Commuters travelling on Northern services can take advantage of the giant sale, which means adults can travel for just 10p - and children for 5p.
It means you could make a return trip from Leeds train station to York or Manchester for a maximum fare of 20p.
There are 80,000 tickets on sale in total and they are available from today (Monday, August 19) on a first-come first-served basis.
The massively reduced tickets are available on services throughout September on a range of services across Yorkshire and beyond.
The deal applies to standard advance tickets bought online and through the Northern app.
You must travel on the date and service shown on your ticket - and railcard discounts do not apply.
