Amanda Owen labels ex husband Clive a 'frustrating and horrible thing' as tempers flare on TV

Amanda Owen branded her ex-husband Clive a "frustrating and horrible thing" as tensions flared between the former couple during their latest appearance on Our Farm Next Door.

The new series of the More4 show, which began airing last month, continues to follow the pair as they work together on renovating the farmhouse Anty John, while also raising their nine children; Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine and Nancy.

But on Tuesday's episode, it was clear that the former couple’s relationship remains strained following their 2022 separation after 22 years of marriage.

The focus of the episode was Clive’s recovery from a recent hip operation, which had kept him indoors for a while.

However, when he ventured outside to join the daily tasks of running their farm, it was clear his mood hadn't improved much.

In a voiceover, Amanda explained: "It’s been a few weeks since Clive had his hip surgery.

“He has dumped the crutches, well lost his crutches, actually!"

She added: “It puts him in a bit of a better humour when he can come outside and be a part of what's going on. It's been very frustrating for him. That's me being polite!”

But when the two started working with the sheep, Amanda didn’t mince words, directly telling Clive: “You have been unbearable.”

Clive, however, was quick to defend himself.

“I have not!” he replied. “I've kept myself to myself. I've minded my own business. I don't think I've shouted at anybody or anything.”

But Amanda wasn’t backing down, adding: “There was one day you were sat in your underpants staring at the floor in the kitchen. Yeah? You were really angry.”

Clive, trying to laugh off the tension, responded, “It is a really frustrating, horrible thing, but anyway, never mind”.

Amanda’s response was blunt: "You are a really frustrating, horrible thing."

Last year, Amanda addressed her split from husband Clive, admitting the last year had been “incredibly hard”, suggesting that fame affected their marriage.

She shared in the opening moments of their series in 2024: “Me and Clive, although we are still husband and wife, we are separate. This last year has been incredibly hard in so many respects but we’ve got through it.

“It’s just what happened, just pressures and stresses but now we are kind of pulling back together again because we kind of need to, because we’ve got a house to do up.”
