Amanda Holden has taken to social media to criticise ITV over its handling of Caroline Flack.
Following the tragic death of the TV presenter, who was found dead in her East London flat at the weekend, an outpouring of grief has swarmed social media.
Heart FM radio DJ Amanda Holden, who replaced Ed James, has taken to Instagram to slam ITV in a lengthy statement, reports Birmingham Live.
The Britain's Got Talent judge expressed her anger after Caroline died aged just 40.
In the statement, Amanda criticised ITV's handling of the presenter, who stepped down from her role as host of ITV2 reality show Love Island following an assault charge.
Caroline, who was due back in court on March 4 after pleading not guilty to assault by beating following an alleged incident with her boyfriend Lewis Burton at her flat back in December, was found dead at her flat in East London on Saturday.
Her friend Lou Teasdale had alerted the star's father of her concerns for Caroline's safety, which led to him visiting her home and discovering her body.
Holden said: "Anger doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel about her being thrown to the dogs like she was..
"Why was she not shown the same level of consideration, protection ,warmth and importance as other artists in our industry who have struggled recently?
"There are criminal gaps in the differences. I am certain there is more to her story... I know the truth will out. May she rest in peace and those responsible for this lack of humanity be brave enough to admit their shame."
She wrote: "Utterly devastated to hear of the sudden death of this funny bright beautiful young girl. My heart goes out to her family. For Caroline to feel that death was the only way out breaks my heart..."
Olly Murs and Laura Whitmore were also among the friends of Flack to express their grief on social media.
Whitmore - who has known Flack for around 10 years and replaced her as host on the current series of Love Island - broke down as she remembered her "vivacious and loving" friend on her Sunday morning radio show.
Whitmore said that "anyone who knew Caroline knew she was vivacious, loving, and had a passion for life, which is why none of this makes sense".
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly wrote on their joint Twitter account: "We are both devastated to hear the news about Caroline Flack.
"It is beyond sad. Beyond words. So tragic.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Rest In Peace Caroline XX."
ITV were contacted for comment by the ECHO.
