Alumni from 'The Bachelor' franchise to appear on anniversary special

Jan. 26--Alumni of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette," including some with ties to Chicago, will be featured in a Feb. 14 special that honors 20 seasons of "The Bachelor," ABC announced Monday.

Some contestants gathered Sunday in California for the wedding of Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, who found love in Season 2 of "Bachelor in Paradise," a spin-off that encouraged former bachelor and bachelorettes to pair up last year at a resort in Mexico.

The wedding, which was officiated by "Bachelor" franchise host Chris Harrison, will be shown on the 7 p.m. special and Harrison will review the most dramatic, scandalous, steamiest, villainous and man-weepiest moments over 20 seasons of the show.

Chicago's Nick Viall, who came in second place on the 10th and 11th seasons of "The Bachelorette," attended the wedding and will appear on the two-hour special, according to ABC.

Season 3 bachelor Andrew Firestone, who proposed to Chicago public relations specialist Jen Schefft; Season 5 bachelorette Jillian Harris, who picked Chicago tech entrepreneur Ed Swiderski; and Season 19 bachelor Chris Soules, who selected Highland Park nurse Whitney Bischoff, are also slated to be featured on the special.

None of those relationships worked out.

Season 20 of "The Bachelor" airs Mondays at 7 p.m. Bachelor Ben Higgins eliminated Chicago bartender Amber James in Monday's episode.
