Allan close to Everton move after breakthrough on £22m deal with Napoli

Everton are closing in on the signing of Napoli midfielder Allan.

The Blues have made a significant breakthrough in talks with the Italian side and are understood to be on the brink of agreeing a £22m deal.

Brazilian midfielder Allan has been on Carlo Ancelotti's radar since he arrived at Goodison after the pair worked together at Napoli and they are now close to being reunited on Merseyside.

Talks between the two clubs have been lengthy but they are now moving rapidly towards a conclusion with Everton focusing their efforts on bolstering the side's midfield.

Improving the midfield has been the Blues' focus this summer and Ancelotti is now close to the first senior signing of his reign as manager.

Everton are remaining tight-lipped this evening but it is understood that a deal is very close to being finalised and there is confidence that Allan will be moving to the club.

The 29-year-old has made no secret of his desire to work with Ancelotti again.
