Lovers of Nando’s are finding their local branches closed due to food supply shortages and staffing problems.
The restaurant chain known for its spicy peri-peri wings has become the latest casualty of Covid-related upheaval in the food industry, with a shortage of chicken causing it to temporarily close a few of its restaurants.
This news comes just after KFC issued a warning over menu shortages.

Nando’s could not comment on how many outlets are closed - it is believed to be around 25.
The South African restaurant chain uses Avara, Moy Park and 2 Sisters Food Group to supply its store with chicken.
Nando’s has sent 70 staff to try and help its suppliers.

If your local branch doesn’t have opening hours listed on the Nando’s website - then it’s shut.
As mentioned above, a nationwide HGV driver shortage impacted KFC in 2018 and closed 600 branches across the UK as a result.
More recently, 30,000 HGV driving tests were cancelled last year because of the pandemic.
There is a shortfall of roughly 100,000 HGV drivers across the UK said the Road Haulage Association.
It is expected supermarkets and other shops will be impacted in the following months.
