All-Star 2019: Team LeBron rallies late, beats Team Giannis 178-164

Team LeBron took a while to get going, but eventually turned in the performance many were expecting.

Giannis Antetokounmpo got off to a fast start, including five first-quarter dunks, and appeared to be on his way to winning his first All-Star MVP award, but Kevin Durant and Team LeBron had other ideas. Team Giannis led by as many as 20 points, but couldn’t hold off a second-half surge from Team LeBron.

In a game full of highlights, including this special one from LeBron and Dwyane Wade, Steph Curry and Giannis provided the best moment of the night.

The second half belonged to Kevin Durant and Team LeBron, though. Team LeBron drained 12 3-pointers in the third quarter, including two from the center court logo from Damian Lillard,  to close in on an 18 point deficit. Durant led Team LeBron in scoring with 31 points, and secured his second All-Star MVP in the process. LeBron added 19 points and eight rebounds.

Team LeBron is now 2-0 in the new All-Star format. If only LeBron could recruit a few of his All-Star teammates to join him in L.A.
