All Points East festival-goers hit out at 'insane' amount of dust at bone-dry Victoria Park

All Points East festival-goers are complaining about high levels of dust at London’s Victoria Park.

The festival, which kicked off last week, has boasted headliners from the likes of Chase and Status, Raye, Tyla, Barry Can’t Swim, Cleo Sol and Sault.

Rapper Doechii dropped out of the festival the previous week.

Following the announcement that Doechii could not perform, singer FKA Twigs was added to the bill and whose performance was critically acclaimed by fans and critics alike.

Despite the star-studded line-up, reviews from attendees have not all been glowing.

Reports of extremely dusty conditions at the site have flooded X. One fan writing: “the dust at all points east was actually insane”, sharing footage covering their mouth to protect themselves.

Another punter shared photos of their clothes covered in dust, advising any attendees with respiratory issues to wear a mask.

Some attendees took the opportunity to post memes about how uncomfortable the conditions were.

On Saturday, headliner Raye said she had to "address the dust situation", and told fans to "stay safe" on a very dry evening.

She paused her set for several minutes after noticing one fan had fainted.

The singer addressed the crowd: "There’s a lot going on in the audience tonight, security can you just look down there, thank you."

One fan who witnessed the situation unfold told The Mirror: "She was very nice about it all.”

Some attendees called on the festival organisers to take matters into their own hands, calling the high levels of dust “a health and safety violation”.

The dusty conditions come as London has endured multiple heatwaves and one of the city’s warmest summers on record, according to the Met Office. The conditions at the park are the result of continuous hot days and minimal rain.

However, festival-goers are not satisfied that organisers did enough to prepare, with one arguing that there was “ample time” for the ground to be sprinkled with water before attendees arrived. Some even expressed concerns that they may have to seek medical support.

The festival has put out a statement acknowledging the dry and dusty conditions, and encouraging ticketholders to “bring sunglasses, a reusable water bottle and a face covering if you need it”.
