For college football fans, following the shifting conferences has been as challenging as keeping track of the season itself. The PAC-12 conference has been significantly weakened in recent years, with many teams relocating to the Big Ten, Big 12, or ACC. But the PAC-12 is making a comeback, and College Football 26 can reflect that if you want it to.
In the 2025 season, only Oregon State and Washington State remain from the old PAC-12. Reinforcements are on the way from the Mountain West and Sun Belt conferences, though. You won’t find them in the PAC-12 in College Football 26 yet, though. However, you can easily create the new-look PAC-12 in the game.
Teams Joining The PAC-12
In 2024, only Oregon State and Washington State were in the PAC-12. The conference didn’t have a championship game due to the change, and the teams had to play schedules that resembled those of an independent. Help is on the way, though. In 2026, the PAC-12 will have seven teams for football and eight for basketball.

Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State, and Colorado State are joining the PAC-12 from the Mountain West Conference. Texas State will also be added from the Sun Belt Conference. Gonzaga will also join the PAC-12, but it does not have a football program.
Since the changes don’t take place until the 2026 season, they’re not yet reflected in College Football 26. If you want to get a head start on the new PAC-12 in this year’s game, it’s easy to set up.
How To Make The New Pac-12 In College Football 26
When you first start a new Dynasty in College Football 26, you’ll choose whether you want default rosters or live rosters. Following that screen, you’ll be able to toggle down to Custom Conferences in the Dynasty Setup menu. Choose that, and you’ll be taken to the next screen.
- Once you’re in the Custom Conferences screen, use the bumpers to select the PAC-12. You’ll see just Oregon State and Washington State in the conference.
- Select “Add School” and use the left trigger/L2 to open the drop-down menu and select the Mountain West.
- Then, add Fresno State, Boise State, San Diego State, and Colorado State. You’ll have to repeat the process for each school.
- Once you’ve added the Mountain West schools, select “Add School” again and use LT/L2 to open the menu and select the Sun Belt Conference.
- Choose Texas State, and you have a brand-new PAC-12 Conference.
