All-new cinematic experience is coming to Bristol this Christmas

Christmas is a truly wonderful time of year in Bristol with plenty of festive events to enjoy.

This year the splendid Spiegeltent is returning to its harbourside location after proving a hit in both 2017 and last year.

The attraction will play host to a range of events when it lands in November, including live music and circus workshops.

And film fans will also have reason to visit the huge tent, as there will be a unique screening of one of the all-time great Christmas flicks.

Following its successful screening of The Life Aquatic aboard a Tall Ship, Compass Presents returns with a Spiegeltent spectacular screening of Singin’ in the Rain.

Together with projection mapping, light and live dance performances, it promises to be a night at the movies people won’t forget in a hurry.

Working alongside Compass Presents to make this show all the more special are circus producers Cirque Bijou, dancers Tap Attack and projection mapping specialists Limbic Cinema.

These three creative forces will work together to create a truly memorable showing of the silver screen classic as performers dance, swing and jump among viewers.

Compass Presents' previous shows include the award winning Caligari Experience, sell out Wickerman romp Equinox and Celluloid Sail, which in 2017 transformed a tall-ship into a touring cinematic spectacle with projection on ship sails and aerial circus in the ship’s rigging.

The 1952 American musical rom-com, Singin’ in the Rain was directed and choreographed by Hollywood legend Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen and portrayed performers caught up in the transition from silent films into ‘talkies’.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £40 and includes a formal two-course dinner before the screening.

Doors open at 6.30pm with dinner being served from 7pm.

Tickets are available now via the Christmas Spiegeltent website.
