Returning from the 2016 reboot and its sequel, Doom: The Dark Ages has a list of toys you can collect, each modeled on an enemy you face from the campaign. They don’t serve a functional purpose, but are needed to 100% complete each level.
As you blast through hordes of demons with the best Doom: The Dark Ages weapons and upgrades, you’ll find that some toy locations are rather devious. So to help you out, we’ve got descriptions of all their hiding spots so you can pick them up on subsequent playthroughs in case you miss them.
Doom The Dark Ages Toy locations
Imp
Level: Village of Khalim
After collecting the Blue Key and bursting through the wall to return to the town square, you’ll get a notification to open the Auto Map, which shows the icon of the toy back where you were. Walk through the open arch, and to the right is a locked door where you’ll find the Imp toy.
Soldier
Level: Village of Khalim
When the level gives you the objective to destroy four demonic portals, head straight on from the main gate and go through the tunnel with health bottles in a line you can find in the next area. On the other side, this next area has a broken beam next to the cliff in front of you, with the demonic portal to your right up the hill. Drop down where the broken beam is and follow the tunnel to find the Soldier toy in a bloody cave.
Imp Stalker
Level: Hebeth
At the beginning of the level, where you need to head inside the facility, you’ll reach a checkpoint where an Imp bursts through the wall. Defeat all the enemies here and head upstairs. Turn right and jump onto the boxes before dropping to the floor below. Follow this path to claim your Imp Stalker toy prize. You can use the shield saw against the metal lock to escape.
Hell Knight
Level: Sentinel Barracks
After picking up the Pulverizer and defeating the enemies inside, a gate will open to some stairs outside. Climb up them and turn right to enter the next chamber. On the left wall, there’s a wall you can break through with a shield charge, which contains the Hell Knight toy and a few gold bars to collect.
Serrat
Level: The Holy City of Aratum
Once you have the Super Shotgun, the gate next to you will open. Continue past the Imps and the puzzle leading to the Ruby, and you’ll see a bridge leading to the next area. Before crossing it, drop down the right side, follow the path with the gold along the way, and climb up to get the toy of the Slayer’s dragon pal.
Slayer
Level: Siege – Part 1
You’ll need to find the Secret Key nearby to get this iconic toy. To get it, you’ll need to head down the hill behind you from the giant statue with an Extra Life underneath it, and walk along the lake toward one of the hellgates. Just before you reach it, turn right and defeat all the nearby foes before picking up the purple key at the top of the slope to your left. Once you pick up the Secret Key, turn around and head back down the hill. The door between a giant torch and a flag contains the Slayer toy.
Mancubus
Level: Siege – Part 1
There’s a ruined section of the map where you can see a Titan and a Mech fighting in the distance. The slope in the far section has a few Imps and a Tank standing between you and the Mancubus toy, which sits underneath a giant statue with a pike.
Pinky Rider
Level: Siege – Part 2
After the turret section, you’ll open a gate on the other side via a switch and begin ascending the building from the inside. After knocking down the planks with your shield, climb up, turn around, and leap to the planks on the other side, leading to a breakable wall. Proceed onward until you get the Pinky Rider toy.
Witch
Level: Abyssal Forest
Once you reach the Cliffside Barracks, defeat the enemies here. One of the branching paths in this area leads to a chamber where you can see the secret locked behind a cage and surrounded by flamethrowers. To open it, look at the top of the wall made up of tree roots to find a metal lock. Throw your shield at it, and it’ll lower a gate blocking a blue Shield switch. Activate it and collect the Witch toy while trying not to get singed by the flames.
Vagary
Level: Ancestral Forge
The Secret Key is close to one of your objectives, where you fight an armored Hell Knight for a health upgrade. Break through the wall on the left side of the room to get the key. The Secret Door is on the opposite side of the level, on a ledge across a big gap near one of the objectives. Open the door and scale to the top to find the Vagary toy and a Ruby.
Cyberdemon
Level: The Forsaken Plains
Close to the Secret Door hiding a Gore Nest, there is a gravlift down a small drop next to some armor shards to the left. Leap across for the Cyberdemon toy.
Atlan
Level: Hellbreaker
As soon as you gain control of the Slayer after the Mech section, turn around and jump onto its head to collect the Atlan toy.
Kreed Maykr
Level: Sentinel Command Station
This one is locked behind a Secret Door that’s thankfully on the main path, so you can’t miss it. To get the Secret Key, open the yellow keycard door. Instead of dropping down, jump to the gold chest nearby. Turn around and shield bash the gate on the opposite side. Continue through the vents until you access the Secret Area. Defeat the enemies here, then drop down the hole behind the yellow keycard door. You should then be able to backtrack to the Secret Door once you defeat the enemies in the large chamber leading to the exit.
Arachnotron
Level: Spire of Nerathul
When you land in the section that leads to a broken ship’s hull accessed via a gravlift, there is a breakable wall on the port side of the upper deck. This leads to the Arachnotron toy.
Revenant
Level: Spire of Nerathul
Far later in the level, there’s a section where you need to ascend a tower via a gravlift. Jump to the enemies below, then turn around and leap across to the armor shards that lead to the Revenant toy on a floating platform.
Agaddon Hunter
Level: City of Ry’uul
Toward the end of the level, there’s a breakable wall just before you reach the Wraithstone and the eye-switch that leads to the Agaddon Hunter toy.
Battle Knight
Level: The Kar’Thul Marshes
Close to the vault puzzle room with the pool that leads to a Ruby, there is a locked gate. Climb the ledge near the puzzle room and defeat the enemy on top of it. Stand on the switch and throw your shield at the metal lock to open the gate and collect your Battle Knight toy prize.
Cacodemon Hybrid
Level: Temple of Lomarith
At a certain point in the level, there is a portal you pass through that brings you out into an alternative version of the arena you were previously in. Climb the now accessible wall into the overturned ship ahead and turn right to find a block you can push. To unlock the toy, head back into the arena and find a metal eye statue in the middle. Line it up with the block and throw your shield to release a laser blast, opening the Cacodemon Hybrid toy.
Komodo
Level: Belly of the Beast
While still inside the beast, one of the walls has a blue shield switch. Throw your shield at it to open a path that leads down a hole. This is the optional stomach encounter as listed in the challenge section, and completing it will unlock the Komodo toy.
Acolyte
Level: Harbor of Souls
After collecting the blue skull key, backtrack to the first main arena of the level and cross to the other side where the locked blue skull door is. Open it to find the Acolyte toy at the edge of a cliff.
Cosmic Baron
Level: Resurrection
Near the objective where you increase your Max Reaver ammo, there is a yellow key up a slope that also has some gold. Collect it, then drop down to open the yellow door to the right and collect the Cosmic Baron toy and a codex entry.
Makyr Drone
Level: Resurrection
Close to one of the Sentinel Shrines, a part of the Auto Map shows an underground lair. To access it, find the switch near the circular grate by the nearby cliffs. Drop through the hole to the bottom and climb the wall to reach the blue shield switch. Activate it and go through the now open gate, hanging a right to find the Acolyte toy instead of using the wheel.
The Old One
Level: Reckoning
From the first Sentinel Shrine, head into the small arena at the back of the church and survive the Gore Nest encounter. A gate will open, revealing the location of The Old One’s toy form.
Ahzrak
Level: Reckoning
Continue through the level until you ascend an elevator that leads to an area where you can reach the Prince’s barge. Instead, turn around and grab the Secret Key, then drop down to the lower level. Head back to the first Sentinel Shrine and find the Secret Door next to it. Drop down the hole ahead to collect the final toy and complete your collection.
