All 25 areas of Nottinghamshire which have almost zero cases of coronavirus

The areas of Nottinghamshire declared 'suppressed' of coronavirus have been revealed on an interactive Government map.

The latest seven-day rolling rate of new infections has shown 25 towns, villages and suburbs recorded fewer than three cases and, by definition, are currently 'suppressed'.

The geographic ward encompassing The Park and Castle is the only inner-city area to fall into this category, with Beechdale, Bilborough North, Basford Park Lane, Mapperley Park, Arnold Town on the city's outskirts also suppressed.

Further afield in the borough of Gedling, the Ravenshead and Newstead ward - comprising part of Linby and Papplewick - are suppressed as well as Burton Joyce and Lambley.

Bestwood Village has also recorded fewer than three cases and so have the likes of Huthwaite and the Oak Tree and Ransom Wood boundary further north.

Beeston Town, Clifton West, Wilford and Silverdale are also suppressed.

So are large parts of Rushcliffe including the Compton Acres and Lutterell ward, Ruddington, East Leake and its surrounding villages - Costock, Bradmore and Bunny - and Keyworth South.

The boundary including Tollerton, Plumtree, Wysall and Widmerpool also makes the list, as well as the Radcliffe-on-Trent and Shelford ward, Cropwell Bishop, Kinoulton and Upper Broughton.

Meanwhile, the ward encompassing Bilsthorpe and Farnsfield, including Eakring, Edingley and Oxton, is suppressed alongside Southwell and the ward of Muskham, Sutton-on-Trent and Walesby, including Laxton and Kersall.

Despite the positive news, health bosses have warned coronavirus rates across the county continue to be a "cause for some concern" amid fears the UK could face a third wave of the virus.

Public Health director for the county, Jonathan Gribbin, said: "Coronavirus hasn't gone away, and even with the vaccine as effective as it is and a pace of roll-out that is proving to be fast and successful, we should still nevertheless anticipate a resurgence at some point.

"We're making plans to deal with that but we are going to continue needing your ongoing help with that."
