Alfredo Morelos starts Rangers title countdown as striker shares 'every day closer to 55' message

He bagged a late winner against Livingston on Wednesday night and Alfredo Morelos is very much ready to put the title champagne on ice.

The Rangers striker struck late on to leave his side just four points from the championship, turning in after Max Stryjek had parried Ryan Kent's shot.

A win over St Mirren on Saturday would pile the pressure on Celtic, who would officially lose their title if they then failed to beat Dundee United.

If John Kennedy's men do win at Tannadice, a point in the derby at Parkhead would be enough for Rangers.

And it seems that Morelos is already counting down the days until the Premiership crown is sealed as he shared an update on his Instagram.

Morelos wrote "every day closer to 55" alongside an image of him celebrating his winning goal.

El Bufalo was booked for diving in the match, with Rangers appealing after replays showed he was clipped by Livi goalkeeper Stryjek.

The decision infuriated manager Steven Gerrard, but Morelos was unaffected.

The Ibrox boss revealed: "Don't worry about Morelos, he's just scored the winner and he's dancing around there to 'Sweet Caroline' with no top on.

"He's fine."

The forward's case will be heard by the SFA on Friday.
