Alfredo Morelos stakes Colombia claim as Rangers star returns to international fold

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was in action for Colombia as the striker played over an hour for his national side against Chile.

The all-South American clash ended in a stalemate but Morelos was able to play the majority of the match despite starting on the bench.

He replaced the injured Duvan Zapata in the first half with 23 minutes gone, but the home side were unable to make the breakthrough as the friendly finished 0-0.

Carlos Queiroz's men will now take on Algeria on Tuesday night in the second game of their double header.

And Morelos will be hoping to lead the line for his nation with the possibility of Zapata being on the sidelines for a period of time.

Rangers star Morelos was recalled to the national squad for the friendlies after his blistering start to the season.

The 23-year-old has helped Steven Gerrard 's side climb to the top of the Premiership table by notching 14 goals so far in this campaign.
