Alfredo Morelos' Rangers restraint hailed as Ibrox star's agent blasts 'comical' refereeing

The agent of Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has branded the decision not to award the Colombian a penalty 'comical'.

And he hailed the Ibrox frontman for showing 'incredible restraint' after the decision, which saw Morelos booked for diving.

The Colombian went down under a challenge from Max Stryjek but referee Beaton and his assistants felt it was simulation and refused to award the spot kick.

Morelos laughed off the incident at the time but his manager Steven Gerrard was fizzing and was shown two yellow cards for his reaction at half time.

He confirmed Rangers would appeal the yellow card, with simulation one of the few things you can do that for.

But Morelos' agent Michael Gorman - who works for World in Motion - insisted it was another example of Morelos not being treated fairly.

He said: "At this point, it’s almost comical.

"SPFL referees clearly treating Morelos unfairly in comparison to other players.

"Incredible restraint shown by Alfredo to not lose his cool after the terrible call."

After the game, Gerrard insisted there was no need to worry about Morelos after the incident because he was just focused on being the match winner.

He said: "Don't worry about Alfredo, he's just scored the winner. He's dancing around with no top in listening to Sweet Caroline."
