Alfredo Morelos hails Rangers impact as he makes Falcao pledge for Colombia

Alfredo Morelos insists he is doing things his way after winning a recall for Colombia on the back of his red hot form for Rangers.

And the Ibrox hero insists he's the man to replace South American legend Falcao who has been omitted from Carlos Queiroz's sqiuad for upcoming friendlies.

The Rangers hitman has already cracked in 13 goals this season and, almost as importantly, massively improved his disciplinary record under the management of Steven Gerrard .

Morelos was rewarded for his form by Colombia boss Queiroz - who recalled him after previously completely snubbing him for the Copa America in the summer - by naming him in his squad for friendlies against Chile and Algeria in Europe.

Queiroz has omitted 89-times capped legend Falcao, 33, for the double-header and Real Madrid ace James Rodriguez is also missing.

And Morelos has pledged to repay Queiroz for his faith in him.

He said: "With Falcao not being in the squad on this occasion, of course I view this as a great opportunity for me.

"It's a chance to get more experience with my national team and I want to do my absolute best.

"Yes, it's been a good start to the season for me. I have scored a number of important goals for Rangers already.

"I've just tried to keep doing things my way and the reward for me has been a call-up to the national team, which makes me very proud indeed.

"I have not talked directly with Carlos Queiroz, but I was in contract with the fitness coaches of Colombia.

"I won't let anyone down and I am delighted to have earned this call-up.

"For me, its good the two games are being played in Alicante and Lille because it means it cuts down on my travelling. I think I will be reporting to Spain on Monday next week."
