Chris Sutton has criticised Alfredo Morelos after the striker’s poor run of form continued.
Since the winter break, the Colombian has failed to replicate the form that he’d shown in the first half of the season.
Speaking on BT Sport, Sutton claimed substitute Florian Kamberi offered more coming off the bench and blamed Gerrard for starting Morelos.
Sutton said: “I think Rangers were outclassed.
“Kamberi did in 40 minutes more than what Morelos gave in the whole 90.
“He hasn’t turned up after the winter break. We spoke about it being a gamble.
“Steven Gerrard had a choice before the game. He got that one wrong, and not enough of the big players turned up.
“And that’s the difference. Before Christmas, your Morelos’ were turning up.”
Defender George Edmundson was disappointed with the decision to award a first-half penalty against him, telling BT Sport: “I slipped in the build-up, and then I’ve got up.
“I think my hand was raised, but I’m only a couple of feet away from him, so for me to get my hand out of the way was virtually impossible, but they’re the rules apparently.”
