Alfredo Morelos branded a Rangers bad egg as scathing Willie Miller urges club to sell 'overweight' star

Scathing Willie Miller has branded Alfredo Morelos "overweight" and "disruptive" as he urged Rangers to cash in.

The Aberdeen legend insists it's time for Steven Gerrard to punt the striker after leaving him out of Saturday's 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.

Gerrard appeared to question Morelos' commitment as Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten were given the nod in attack.

Miller believes the Ibrox boss has done all he can with the Colombia international, suggesting the player had become a bad influence in the dressing room.

He also reckons Morelos returned for the new season well out of shape and should be moved on before the transfer window closes.

Miller told BBC Sportsound: "If you don't have the right attitude it's really difficult for the manager to pick a player, even one as talented as Morelos.

"And with the goals that he scores for Rangers, they're vitally important.

"But I don't think it comes as any surprise, he seems a moody young man, doesn't he?

"He looks overweight, I said that at Pittodrie.

"People were saying: 'Oh, he's playing a little bit deeper, a little bit different'.

"Listen, Alfredo Morelos is a striker, he wants to be in the box. He's a predator.

"His quick feet weren't there against Aberdeen either, so he's let himself down by coming back looking unfit, in my eyes anyway.

"And now, if he's not giving the manager everything and being, perhaps, a disruptive influence.

"Some of the the temperamental scenes we've seen from him, not just recently but over the years."

Miller says the arrival of Roofe and Itten has allowed Gerrard to speak more freely on the situation, given he now has extra cover in attack.

He continued: "It's difficult when you've got a player like that in the squad. Difficult to manage because he's so important and gives you goals - what do you do?

"Well, you go out and get other players that can give you something similar.

"Then, I think, you have got to let him go if he's being such a disruptive character.

"That can have a bad influence on other players within the squad as well.

"He's made it known he wants to go and his actions tell you that.

"The manager is trying to deal with it and he's dealing with it as strongly as he possibly can.

"But it's probably time for him to move on."
