It was a year ago that Alex Smith suffered a horrifying leg injury, one that had Washington Redskins alumnus Joe Theismann comparing it to his leg break that ended his career.
Since then, we’ve learned that Smith has had a long road to recovery, including 17 surgeries, although he and his family had some fun with his leg as a Halloween costume prop last month.
Smith’s wife Elizabeth marked the year anniversary on Instagram with a touching video showing photos and videos of Smith over the last 12 months in which he’s gotten back to walking and training again. It’s incredible to see it all together in one minute:
“November 18th,” Smith wrote in the caption. “1 Year and so much to be grateful for.”
