Alex Dyer suffers racist abuse as Kilmarnock 'utterly condemn' sick letter sent to manager

Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer has been the victim of a sick racist letter, with the matter reported to Police Scotland.

The Englishman is the only black manager in Scotland's top flight, and one of the few to take on a top job in our game.

After acting as assistant to Steve Clarke and Angelo Alessio he stepped up to take the Rugby Park job as manager in his own right.

And Killie have revealed that a sick letter was sent to the club containing racist abuse aimed at Dyer.

A statement read: " Kilmarnock Football Club utterly condemns a letter which was delivered to the club this morning containing racist abuse directed at our manager, Alex Dyer.

"We are working with Police Scotland to identify any individuals involved in this disgusting act and we will pursue the strongest possible action we can against them.

"Racism in any form is completely unacceptable and must be called out whenever and wherever it is found.

"As a club, we have shown our support to rid the game and society as a whole of racial discrimination by taking the knee before each fixture this season and we will continue to do so."
