Aleksandar Mitrovic's future in the balance as Fulham chief delivers defiant stance over exit

Fulham director of football Tony Khan has issued a defiant message regarding the future of Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Serbian international has been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage following the relegation of Scott Parker's side.

Mitrovic was a central part of Fulham's promotion to the Premier League, and also racked up 11 goals for the struggling side in the top flight.

The £30million-rated striker has been linked with a move to West Ham and Fenerbache this summer, but speaking in a special interview with the Fulhamish podcast , Tony Khan insists that he plan to keep the 24-year-old in west London.

He said: "I would like to retain as many of our key players as possible, and that includes Aleksandar Mitrovic.

"We made a big investment to get him here and I believe in him.

"Last season he played so hard for us and he sets a great tone in the dressing room and on the pitch. I am doing everything I can to keep him.

“I have a great relationship with him and we have had a lot of talks. He loves Fulham, he loves the club, he loves the people here, he loves his team-mates.”
