Eager shoppers have caused Aldi's website to crash after thousands flocked to get their hands on the newly launched Kevin the Carrot plush toys for 2022.
The supermarket chain's new Kevin and Family Christmas collection of plush toys officially went live this morning both in stores and online.
Thousands of shoppers were placed in a virtual queue after trying to get in as early as they could to grab one of the coveted toys.

Aldi's new Kevin plush toy collection comes after the popular mascot made his return for a seventh year in the supermarket chain's Christmas advert, which paid homage to Home Alone.
This year's collection includes a range of Kevin the Carrot products for fans, including new plush toys, children's pyjamas and plush Christmas tree decorations.

When we checked online this morning at around 8:30am, there were more than 77,000 other shoppers waiting to get their hands on Kevin and Friends.
Aldi's virtual queue read: "We’re very sorry, but there are currently lots of people trying to access the Aldi website. We’ve automatically placed you in a queue. Don’t worry about refreshing - this page will update automatically as soon as you can enter the site.”
Other shoppers flocked to social media to mention how they had been waiting outside stores from the early mornings hours, with one being the first in the queue from 5am.

One father who was there in the morning shared a snap and wrote: "First in line things we do for our kids lol."
Another wrote: "Its Aldi kevin the carrot release date. Is anyone else sad enough to be in the queue.... or is that just me?"
While quite a few shoppers did mention that the website kept crashing, there were quite a few who were lucky enough to nab the coveted plush toys and shared the good news online.
One shopper shared her Kevin haul after her and her kids were fourth in the queue outside Aldi as they had "Kevin fever" this morning.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “The demand for our Kevin the Carrot soft toys was extremely high and, as a result, customers were held in a queue to enter the website. This was to improve the customer experience on our website and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
Aldi's Kevin the Carrot 2022 merchandise is now on sale online and in-store, but you might want to be quick.
