Aldi releases 'delicious' ice cream doughnuts that remind shoppers of Krispy Kreme

Aldi has released a new frozen doughnut product and it has mostly been very well received by customers.

To celebrate National Doughnut Week, the bargain giant now sells Gianni's Doughnut Ice Creams.

The product consists of doughnut-shaped vanilla ice cream rings topped with sprinkles, and comes in milk chocolate and white chocolate varieties.

The frozen doughnuts cost £2.29 for a box of four, which contains two of each flavour.

Taking to Facebook to share news of its new dessert, Aldi wrote: "What says #NationalDoughnutWeek like our new Ice Cream Doughnuts. Grab yours in store now!"

Since being uploaded on Wednesday, the post has received over 1,100 likes and more than 830 comments from loyal fans giving their verdict.

One revealed: "Oooooo I'll be looking for these!"

"Yummy yummy," a second wrote.

A third said: "Those packaging colours remind me of Krispy Kreme".

A fourth exclaimed: "They even have sprinkles!"

"OMG Aldi you are not helping my diet here," joked a fifth.

"Look lovely," a sixth simply said.

A seventh agreed: "I love the look of those."

An eighth commented: "Children would lose their mind over these…. And by children I mean me."

"They look lovely, no wonder I'm round instead of slim," echoed a ninth.

Others weren't so convinced by the new product, with one Facebook user stating: "It still looks like boring vanilla in the middle."

A second shared: "Had one of these tonight… have to say… the initial impression was disappointment as they were much smaller than expected…. But they are tasty"
