Aldi recalls two 'poppin chicken' products over salmonella fears

Two Aldi chicken products have been recalled due to the possibility they could be contaminated with salmonella.

The supermarket is urging shoppers who have bought affected packs of Roosters Southern Fried Poppin' Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin' Chicken to check their packaging as a batch may be infected.

Salmonella can cause fever, stomach cramps and diarrhoea.

Aldi said: "Customers are advised not to eat this product and return it to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

"We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation."

The affected products have best before dates of Saturday, May 25. If you have them in your freezer, do NOT eat them and return to your nearest Aldi supermarket for a refund.
