Aldi launches new £500 gift card at all Scots stores in time for Christmas

Aldi has released its first ever gift card at all Scots stores - just in time for the Christmas period.

Shoppers can add up to £500 on the card, which can be used to pay for their shopping or any items in the Specialbuys aisle.

Lucky recipients will be able to activate the card and choose how much of the card they would like to spend at the checkout.

Cardholders will be able to spend the credit on the gift card contactless at the end of their shop.

The plastic gift cards will be available to buy at the greeting card section of all 920 of its stores across the UK.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi, said: “The Aldi gift card is the perfect present for any Aldi fan, whether it goes towards their food shopping or that must-have item from our Specialbuys aisle.

“We hope customers enjoy giving the gift of Aldi to their friends and family.”

Aldi was yesterday named the cheapest supermarket in the UK for September after beating Lidl by just 37p.

Consumer magazine Which? compared a basket of 22 branded and unbranded goods at each of the supermarkets.

The study found that Aldi was a whopping 38% cheaper than the most expensive chain for the same range of items.
