Aldi and Sainsbury's are urgently recalling these food items over 'health risk' fears

Aldi and Sainsbury's have recalled two food items because they could pose a possible health risk to consumers with allergies or intolerances.

The two supermarket giants have been found to be selling products that don't have all the ingredients listed and could be a health risk to people with allergens or intolerances.

Sainsbury's is recalling Sainsbury’s Tomato & Basil Soup because some products may contain wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall and it has issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

Advice from Sainsbury's published on the Food Standards Agency reads: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to wheat (gluten) do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."
