Albion Rovers boss reveals Cliftonhill upgrades after James Anderson donation

Brian Reid says Albion Rovers fans are in for a pleasant surprise when they return to Cliftonhill – after the club pumped money into pitch improvements.

The Rovers boss is delighted the club have put funds donated by businessman James Anderson to good use and reckons supporters are in for a treat when they are eventually allowed back inside the stadium.

Reid, whose side are due to kick-off on October 6 in the Betfred Cup, revealed: “We’re doing a lot of work on the stadium and the park. The park is looking really good, which I’m really pleased about, because I’m hoping that can be a big improvement.

“For too long people have complained about the pitch at Albion Rovers, but I think they might be in for a surprise when they see it.

“I’m delighted with the work that has been done, and the board has been great with that.

“The money from James Anderson has been really helpful for clubs like ourselves to help improve the stadium and the pitch and everything else, so hopefully people can see a big difference in it.”
