Alan Ritchie murder: Michael Toal and Terence Morgan found guilty at Glasgow High Court

Two men have been found guilty of the murder of Alan Ritchie at a flat in Glasgow.

Michael Toal, 50, and Terence Morgan, 32, were found guilty today (Monday, 10 May) at the High Court in Glasgow.

Toal was sentenced to 20 years and Morgan 19 years.

Alan was discovered seriously injured by police at an address on Kennishead Avenue in the Carnwadric area of the city around 10pm on Tuesday, March 10.

The 61-year-old died at the scene shortly after emergency services arrived.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan McAlpine of the Major Investigation Team (West) thanked the public for their assistance after the verdict.

He said: “I want to take this opportunity to thank members of the public for coming forward and assisting with our investigation, which led to this prosecution.

"This guilty verdict will never bring Alan back but hopefully it will bring some sense of justice to his family.

“Violent crime has no place in society and we will work alongside our partners at the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal service to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice and removed from our communities.”
