Al Murray looks unrecognisable on Good Morning Britain appearance

Comedian Al Murray shocked Good Morning Britain fans today as he appeared on screen looking like we've never seen him before.

Al is known for his 'Pub Landlord' persona, which sees him clean shaven and with a bald head.

But today he appeared on the breakfast show with a full head of hair and a bushy beard.

And as he came onto the show it was the first thing hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard mentioned.

Susanna said: "I can't believe it, the last time I saw you the only hair you had on you was your eyebrows, what happened?"

Al said: "I've got hair Susanna, I was due to go on tour so I had to cut my hair, but then that was obviously cancelled, so I could just let it grow.

Steve said: "He looks better with hair."

Al was on the show to speak about his new history podcast on the Second World War.

The panel spoke about how history affects our everyday lives and how everyone should know where they came from.

Al said he was looking forward to getting back to comedy and that he had already done some socially distanced gigs.

He said: "I have some gigs in Norwich in a marquee, the thing about the audience is that everyone really wants to be there."
