Al Michaels Roasted DaRon Bland After DK Metcalf Burned Him for a Thrilling TD

Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf blew Cowboys defenders away early in the Thursday Night Football game, breaking free for a 73–yard touchdown on Seattle's first possession.

Quarterback Geno Smith threw a perfect pass on the play, splitting two Dallas defenders to hit Metcalf in the hands, who immediately put his foot on the gas and sped away to the end zone.

One of the defenders Metcalf rushed past was Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland, who was just named the NFC November Defensive Player of the Month after he secured his fifth pick-six of the season last week and made history in the process.

Amazon Prime announcer Al Michaels gave quite the line after the touchdown by not-so-subtly roasting Bland.

“So Bland just won Defensive Player of the Month for November, but obviously, the voters didn’t count November 30,” Michaels said on the broadcast.

Michaels has gotten a lot of criticism this year for his announcing on Thursday nights, since most of the games have turned out to be boring matchups. But NFL fans gave the 79-year-old credit on Thursday night for this line.

Take a look at some of the best reactions to the Michaels call.
