Al Ahly vs Inter Miami LIVE
The revamped Club World Cup is officially underway, though we still await the first goal of the new-look tournament as Al Ahly drew 0-0 with Inter Miami in what was an entertaining Group A showdown.
In a game of two halves, it was the goalkeepers for both sides - Oscar Ustari and Mohamed El Shenawy - who ended up outshining the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets in Miami Gardens, Florida. Ustari was the star of the first-half, saving a penalty from ex-Aston Villa forward Trezeguet on top of other brilliant stops to keep the MLS side “alive”.
However, El Shenawy very much proved to be the Argentine’s equal in the second half as he made three world class saves - including tipping an effort from Messi on the crossbar in injury time - to ultimately ensure the Egyptian outfit a point left the Hard Rock Stadium with a point. The Egyptian side, the most decorated team in African football, dominated the first-half of the Group A encounter and quite easily could have been three or four goals up by the break had it not been for a brilliant individual performance.
However, the roles were reversed in the second half and Al Ahly were the ones left indebted to the most experienced player on their team as they easily could have left the Hard Rock Stadium empty handed.

Club World Cup explained
Saturday 14 June 2025 23:55 , Tashan Deniran-AlleynePreviously an annual tournament contested by only seven teams from across the world, the Club World Cup will now feature 32 teams and the tournament will occur once every four years.
In truth, the Club World Cup is just a club team version of the international men's and women's World Cup competitions.
32 teams are divided into eight groups of four, who will play each other once in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will then go through to the knockout stages.
However, unlike the international World Cups, the Club World Cup will have no third-place play-off.
