Airfield Estate, one of the city's most popular urban farm visitor experiences, is hosting a sustainable Christmas market this weekend.

Taking place this Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19 and on Thursday, December 23, there will be three pop up stalls which will have "a lovely selection eco conscious and sustainable gifts ranging from Irish wool slippers, hand made body butters to handmade candles and scents."

Additionally, there will be two drop in workshops this weekend.

Visitors will have the opportunity to spend time with creative floral designer Vivienne Brophy who will demonstrate how to make a festive wreath using locally sourced seasonal foliage this Friday, December 17.

John O'Toole, Director of Operations at Airfield Estate said: "The market is covered, outdoor and social distance will be observed.

"Among the array of quality offerings at Airfield Farmers Market are the Hibernia Food store, Kilmullen Farm Lamb, Sarah’s Organics, Mc Loughlin’s Butchers, Goode’s Vegetable and Fruits, Overend’s Kitchen and the Scarlett Olive.

"Also joining the market for a pop up on 17 & 18 December are Greener Me natural Irish wool products and SKIN local made luxurious body butter. Quality gift items, including Irish made baskets and chopping boards are on sale at Hibernia."

On Saturday, there is a Winter Solstice celebration which sees Celtic Pagan Spirituality researcher Margaret Scully share insights into our ancestors and Solstice traditions.
