Ian Murray wants to remain Airdrie manager next season with his contract set to expire this summer.
The 40 year-old boss has been at the Diamonds since October 2018 and he hopes that the Championship play-off final defeat against Morton isn't his last game in charge.
Airdrie achieved a second-placed finish in League One this season and Murray aims to build upon that next season but he has yet to sign a new deal.
"I'm out of contract so that could have been my last game," Murray explained. "We will sit down next week and see what is happening.
"Absolutely [I want to stay]. We've been building here for almost three years and we are starting to see the fruits of our labour.
"We need to make sure that we recruit really well in the summer because we need to keep a good squad.
"We've had steady progress - fifth in my first season, third last season and second this year - plus we've had some nice Scottish Cup ties, even though the results haven't been great.
"We are hopeful that we can continue to build on that next season but football can change very quickly.
"There has just been so much going and we've not known what league we would be in or what players we might have.
"The way that we work is really good and there is no pressure or stress - we will sort it out hopefully.
"To finish second in the league, especially in this season, was an incredible achievement but we get nothing from that.
"We will take that with us, hold onto it and hopefully take it into next season.
"It's the first time that Airdrie have finished second since 2007 so it's been a good season. We wanted to finish with a promotion but that'll be the aim next season."
