An “awkward” call between an air traffic controller and her husband pilot was overheard by another pilot.
In audio shared by AirTrafficControl.com, a pilot can be heard telling his wife, a flight controller, that he loves her and needs to get back to work.
A different pilot overheard the interaction as he radioed into the Camarillo air traffic control radio tower in California. He then joked: “Hey Camarillo tower, we love you too. So we'd like to get a TEC route, if possible, to Santa Monica.”
The controller revealed that she had just been talking to her husband, as the second pilot responded: “All right, that just got way awkward.”
Her husband later chimed in to joke: “I'm still here. You flirting with my wife?”. “No comment,” the second pilot replied.
