Air ambulance rushed to Penarth for medical emergency

An air ambulance landed in Penarth on Thursday to aid a patient needing "urgent medical attention".

Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed the team were alerted to the incident on Thursday, September 10 at approximately 10.31am to reports of a person needing medical attention on Belle Vue Terrace, Penarth.

A spokeswoman for Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We responded with one emergency ambulance and were supported by Wales Air Ambulance.

"One patient was taken by road to the University Hospital of Wales.”

A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue added: "At approximately 11.04am on Thursday, September 10 2020 we received reports of a one vehicle road traffic collision on Albert Road, Penarth.

"Crews from Penarth and Ely station attended the scene.

"The incident concluded at approximately 11.38am."
