AHMEDABAD: The city crime branch, Ahmedabad has arrested three persons and has recovered 18.96 grams of mephedrone drug from them. The three were arrested were supplying mephedrone drugs to various cafés on Sindhubhavan road.
The officials said that on Friday evening acting on the top off the cops arrested Rahil alias Rahilbaba Kureshi, a resident of Raikhad, Sohel alias Hajibaba Pathan a resident of Jamalpur and Shaktisinh Chauhan a resident of Sanand.
They recovered 13.80 gram of mephedrone from Sohel while from Rahil and Shaktisinh they found 5.16 gram of mephedrone. The two were moving in mid-segment car.
The city crime branch officials also found 90 empty zipper bags which from their possession. The cops said that during interrogation the accused informed them that they were purchasing the drug at Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,700 and were selling the same at Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 per gram.
An official release from the Ahmedabad city crime branch stated that the three informed the cops that they were supplying drugs from late evening till midnight on Sindhubhavan road and nearby areas including Bapa-no-Bagicho and Mahol Café.
The release stated that the cops are now searching for the drug supplier.
The cops said that Sohel and Shaktisinh had cases of murder and attempt to murder along with other IPC Sections against them while Rahil has been arrested for three different offences in Gaikwad Havel, Karanj and SG highway.
The cops said that a complaint has been registered and it also names Amir, a resident of Andheri Mumbai and Shahid Kureshi.
The Complaint mentions the mobile number of Kureshi. The FIR states that the three had gathered on the service road on SG highway. The FIR also mentions that a women was also seated on the back seat of the cart which was driven by Sohel.
