After Assam CM made the 'I watch stars of my time' remark, here's how Shah Rukh Khan's fans reacted

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had recently retorted ‘Who is Shah Rukh Khan?’, when he was asked about protests at a Guwahati theatre where ‘Pathaan’ will be released. He added that he didn't know Shah Rukh but knew 'film stars of my time’. Now, fans on social media have reminded him that the superstar is 'four years older' than him.

While one fan wrote on Twitter, 'I know film stars of my time?? Bro you are 4 years younger to Shah Rukh Khan', another one added, 'This dude is about 4 years younger than SRK and he talks about 'film stars of my time.'

A Twitter user also commented, 'Baazigar was a superhit during our college days #CottonCollege. Was one of the blockbuster releases of the era when we all were at our fiery youth in our college days @himantabiswa sir.'

Soon after this statement, he tweeted about speaking to SRK over a call at 2am. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Bollywood actor Shri @iamsrk called me and we talked today morning at 2 am. He expressed concern about an incident in Guwahati during screening of his film. I assured him that it’s duty of state govt to maintain law & order. We’ll enquire and ensure no such untoward incidents.”

However, he still maintained that he still doesn't know much about Shah Rukh and hardly watches movies. PTI quoted him saying, "I have seen films of Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Jeetendra......I still don’t know much about Shah Rukh Khan. Since 2001, I have seen not more than six to seven films."
