Africa Oye 2022 in Liverpool: line up, stage times and getting to Sefton Park

Africa Oye gets underway in Liverpool’s Sefton Park today, with a huge line up of performers taking to the stage for the 30th anniversary of the festival.

Originally launched as a series of gigs in Liverpool in 1992, Africa Oye is now one of the city's most popular events and celebrates the music and culture of Africa. Following a two year break due to the pandemic, the festival finally returns to Sefton Park this weekend where there will be live music, DJs, dance, workshops, food stalls, traders and more across two days.

Among those performing are Grammy Award-winning Oumou Sangaré, rapper Fuse ODG and reggae musician Eek-A-Mouse. Entry to the festival is free and it is suitable for all ages.
