Refugees fleeing from Afghanistan will have less than £40 a week to live off once they reach the UK.
The UK is set to receive 5,000 people in the first year and another 15,000 in the coming years as part of the Afghan citizens' resettlement scheme.
However refugees will have just £39.63 per week per person, or £5.64 per day to pay for food, toiletries, clothes and other essential items once they arrive in the country.

A whole daily allowance could buy someone a supermarket meal deal and a box of cereal and leave them unable to afford other essentials such as toiletries and clothes.
Housing is provided free, but the majority of refugees will not be able to work in the UK until they have been through the asylum process.
Since harrowing scenes of people fearing for their life in Afghanistan were broadcast last month, charities have been working to help provide the refugees with essentials once they arrive in the country.
A desperate rush to flee Afghanistan means many people are arriving with only the clothes they're wearing.
In the North East, donations of clothing and toiletries have been flooding into donation points across the region to help those who would soon be arriving in the region.
And charities in Newcastle were quick to praise the city's huge show of generosity towards those fleeing crisis.
