AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Doncaster: Hosts denied famous first win at new stadium - as it happened!

AFC Wimbledon had a dream return to Plough Lane ruined in extra time as Doncaster veteran James Coppinger scored a late equaliser on a famous night for the Dons.

Pigott wrote his name into the history books as the first player to score at the new stadium, just under 30 years after the Dons left the original Plough Lane, when he pounced on a poor clearance to fire home.

The goal capped a fine move down the left, following Steve Seddon's backheel for Terell Thomas, whose cross was parried to the feet of Pigott.

The Dons lead lasted just six minutes, with Doncaster forward Matt Smith - on loan from Manchester City - spun away at the back and was able to finish to level things up.

Darren Moore's visitors dominated most of the second half, with winger Josh Sims testing Connal Trueman.

Minutes later, though, and Pigott looked to have sealed a dream night for the few in yellow and blue who could be back inside the stadium for this momentous night, firing home with less than 10 minutes to play.

Doncaster rallied and, to the exasperation of the hosts, Coppinger's driven effort took a deflection and looped over the Dons keeper and in.
