Adorable newborn lambs mark start of Spring on Scots farm

This is the adorable picture of two newborn lambs - taken when they were just minutes old.

Tiny lambs Charlotte and Ellen, were born on Monday at Arnbeg Farmstay, in Kippen, near Stirling.

Owner Ali Thom, 54, pictured the adorable ewes just three minutes after mum Isla, a Greyface Dartmoor, delivered them.

The arrival of the joyous lambs marks the beginning of spring for Ali, who expects to welcome 18 newborns at her farm this year.

The fluff balls weigh around 7lbs and will stay with mum Isla in a barn on the farm.

Once the lambs know the smell of their mum they will be given access to a bigger barn with a paddock.

The farm normally welcomes visitors to help with lambing, but this year Ali is doing it all herself.

Ali said: "Quite a few of the sheep have just had lambs.

"People normally book to stay with us for lambing but now I am just indulging in it myself.

"My sheep are pretty good, they pop the lambs out and I just stand and watch.

"We expect to have about 18 in total this year.
"They weigh around 7lbs, but they are just mostly fluff.

"The lambs mark the start of spring.

"We put the rams in around November so we have the lambs around March, April time.

"Charlotte and Ellen are in the barn just now.

"When they get a bit older and they know mum's smell and bleat they will go into a bigger barn with access to a paddock."
