A beloved family dog is "lucky to be alive" after she was savagely attacked in her own driveway by another dog.
Yorkshire terrier Toto was flung around like a rag doll after being set upon by a large black dog in the Balcurris area of Ballymun last Thursday, January 2.
Toto's owner Linda Andrews Oglesby she often lets the seven-year-old out with her other dog, Olly.
She said: "They were let out by myself as usual. I mostly let Olly out on his own but Toto ran out.
"Within a few minutes I heard Olly jumping at the door to get back in and then I heard Toto screaming so I ran to the door and saw a big German shepherd [in the garden]."
Linda picked up an umbrella and started beating it off a wall while shouting Toto's name in an attempt to scare off the larger dog.
She continued: "My husband heard me screaming. He was inside on the phone.
"He dropped the phone and ran outside and saw Toto lying in the garden and brought her inside."
Toto had been badly injured, with seven puncture wounds that caused massive internal bleeding.
Linda and her husband raced Toto to the vet who immediately operated on the stricken pooch.
The charming terrier, who appeared on stage at the National Concert Hall last year in The Wizard of Oz, was kept in by the vet until Monday before being allowed home.
It was only yesterday that Linda realised another dog was involved in the attack.
CCTV footage from the couple's home shows what appears to be a German Shepard chase Toto and Olly in to Linda's garden.
Olly runs for the door before running back out and chasing after the German Shepard while Toto takes refuge in front of her owner's car.
At that point, an other large dog lurks up behind Toto, hurling her from side to side in a vicious attack that caused her life-threatening injuries.
Linda said: "Our little dog is lucky to be alive. We were back with the vet this morning for check up and he himself said he can't believe she made it."
She shared details of her ordeal on Facebook and urged people to contact her if they spot the dogs who carried out the attack.
She said: "If anyone recognise these dogs could you text me.
"I think they are both together and let wander the streets. It could happen to any dog or even a child [so] please keep a look out. I won't be happy till I see this taken care of."
