Adobe Expands Generative AI Tool To Over 100 Languages

Creative software firm Adobe on Wednesday expanded the availability of its generative artificial intelligence tool to support text prompts in over 100 languages. ADBE stock has been a top-performing AI stock lately.

Adobe launched its Firefly generative AI product in March in only one language — English. With the latest release, the San Jose, Calif.-based company has taken the service worldwide.

In addition to supporting text prompts in scores of new languages, Adobe is adapting the Firefly user interface to over 20 languages. Starting today, it is offering versions of Firefly in French, German, Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese.

Firefly allows users to generate high-quality images and text effects from simple typed commands. Adobe's Firefly is one of many generative AI products that have gained prominence since late 2022.

Generative AI can create content — including written articles, images, videos and music — from simple descriptive phrases. Artificial intelligence systems analyze and digest vast amounts of data to create new works. Generative AI also can write computer programming code.

ADBE Stock Is A Recent Breakout

On the stock market today, ADBE stock climbed 0.5% to close at 507.36.

On June 9, ADBE stock broke out of a 42-week cup base at a buy point of 451.15, according to IBD MarketSmith charts. Adobe climbed as high as 518.74 on June 16 before pulling back.

On Monday, ADBE stock cleared a three-weeks-tight pattern at a buy point of 495.55, MarketSmith charts show.

Since Adobe launched Firefly, the program has generated more than 1 billion images for users. Adobe also has integrated the application into its Photoshop, Express and Illustrator products.

"We've been amazed at how creators have been using Firefly to create more than a billion gorgeous images and text effects, making it one of Adobe's most successful betas ever in just three months," Ely Greenfield, chief technology officer for digital media at Adobe, said in a news release.

He added, "Today's announcement is about making Firefly accessible to more people in their preferred languages, so they can continue to leverage our unique model to bring their imagination to life, and create the highest quality assets that are safe for commercial use."

Firefly Offers Digital 'Nutrition Label'

Firefly automatically tags content with Content Credentials, bringing trust and transparency to digital content, Adobe said in its release.

Content Credentials serve as a digital "nutrition label," the company said. The free, open-source technology shows information such as name, date and the tools used to create an image, as well as any edits made to that image. That information remains associated with content wherever it is used, published or stored, enabling proper attribution and helping consumers make informed decisions about digital content, Adobe said.

Adobe developed Content Credentials in partnership with the Content Authenticity Initiative, which has over 1,500 global members.

Further, ADBE stock is on the IBD Big Cap 20 and Tech Leaders stock lists.
