Adele 'struggling to eat or sleep' after fan backlash for cancelling Las Vegas shows

Adele is "struggling to eat or sleep" after she's been hit with backlash for cancelling her Las Vegas shows.

The Hello hitmaker cried to fans after she announced that her exclusive residency at Caesars Palace wouldn't be going ahead because it "isn't ready".

But now sources are saying that the mega star is "not in a good way" following reports that her relationship with Rich Paul is "on the rocks".

A source told Closer magazine: "Adele's not in a good way, she's struggling to eat or sleep.

"Postponing residency wasn't a decision she took lightly and she's simply not used to such a backlash and such bitter attacks from fans.

They continued: "She's very sensitive and she isn's someone who can just brush off such harsh criticism, no matter how much people urge her to ignore it."

It was revealed that her loved ones were "worried about her" and have suggested that the Chasing Pavements singer takes a break.

Adele's mum, Penny Adkins, is said to be begging her daughter to come home to the UK amid the drama.

Speaking of the mystery surrounding the cancelled dates, a source said: "Adele's life is full of drama right now, but as usual, she's keeping her cards close to her chest.

"There are some people on her team and senior staff members at Caesars Palace who have been kept i the dark - it's all very cloak and dagger."

Adele shared a tearful video with fans explaining her absence where she said: "I'm so sorry but my show ain't ready. We've tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.

"Half my team are down with Covid and it's been impossible to finish the show.

"I can't give you what I have right now and I'm gutted. And I'm sorry it's last minute. We've been awake for over 30 hours trying to figure it out and we've run out of time."

She added that she was "upset and embarrassed."

The singer said that the dates would be rescheduled and that she will "get it to where it's supposed to be."

The insider said that the 33-year-old needed to "addresses her issues with performing and battling nerves" otherwise she would be risking some severe backlash from her fans.

On Adele's relationship with Rich Paul, a separate source told New York Daily News: "There's trouble in paradise. That's why she can't perform."

The couple started dating in early 2021 and went official in September.

According to The Sun, the pair have struggled to spend time with each other due to busy work commitments.

A source told The Sun: "Adele is staying at Rich's house in Beverly Hills just trying to fix their relationship because things have become strained.

"They barely saw each other at the beginning of the month because he was away for work and she was trying to focus on the Vegas show.

"She was upset he couldn't be there with her when things started falling apart with the residency and it made things difficult for them both.

"She needed him there, but he couldn't because he has his own busy career too."

Caesars Palace are desperate for gigs to go ahead because if they don't it's been reported they could lose up to £111million.

ITV's showbiz correspondent Ross King said: "'They (Caesars Palace) really want it to happen and they are saying they are doing all they can to make it happen, so it's kind of now all on Adele's side.

"I have to say, out here they are not particularly confident that those Vegas dates will go ahead. Let's hope that they do in the end."

The Mirror has approached Adele's representatives for comment.
