An additional 100,000 tickets will go on sale for the Rugby World Cup on Monday, England 2015 has announced.
Adjustments to the ground capacities for the 13 match venues have resulted in a rise from 2.3m to 2.45m tickets available for the ninth instalment of the tournament. The extra 100,000 tickets will be available on the competition’s ticketing website, encompassing all 48 matches, with 15,000 tickets for the three England pool games at Twickenham among those available.
On Wednesday 30,000 tickets for the knockout stages – the quarter-finals, semi-finals, bronze final and the final – will go on sale. Fans who applied for England and knockout matches at Twickenham during the September 2014 ballot, and have yet to secure seats, will be given priority access.
The England 2015 managing director, Stephen Brown, said: “Excitement around the tournament continues to grow and as we approach 50 days to go, it really is going to be too big to miss.”
