Adama Traore transfer stance confirmed as status of Chelsea and Tottenham bids revealed
Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Bruno Lage has confirmed that his side have received no bids for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Adama Traore.
The winger is out of contract next summer and has been strongly linked with a move to London.
Chelsea were strongly rumoured to be considering the former Barcelona in the summer window as they aimed to secure a more natural right-wing back having seen a move for Achraf Hakimi collapse - the Moroccan eventually electing to join French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
With just over two weeks remaining in the current window, however, Traore remains a Wolves player and Lage has confirmed that neither Chelsea or Spurs - or any interested party for that matter - have made an effort to sign the winger.
The Portuguese said: “No, for now I know nothing about [bids for] Adama.
“The only thing I can say is it’s the same Adama since the first day. Every time he is training well and doing things as the big professional he is. Nothing has changed.
"Adama is here with us, he wants to play for us and he is a big professional.”
Lage also suggested he expects Traore to remain at Molineux for the remainder of the window, but hinted that the volatile nature of the current market could yet change that position.
He continued: “Yes, that [Traore to stay] is in my mind. Nothing changes.
“But this is football. The club has talked with Adama before.”
Whilst Chelsea and Spurs have both been linked with the 25-year-old, the pair do face some competition in an effort to secure his services, with Barcelona reportedly keeping an eye on developments regarding his future.
So far this season, the Spanish international has made 21 appearances for Wolves in all competitions but is yet to register either a goal or an assist.
