Adam Devine out to impress Rangers boss Michael Beale and land even more top team chances

Adam Devine is out to show Michael Beale he deserves even more Rangers minutes.

The young full-back was handed his chance under the new boss while Borna Barisic was at the World Cup and Ridvan Yilmaz was out injured. He is naturally a right-back but he picked up top team minutes on the opposite side and impressed in the role.

The 19-year-old admits he has had more game-time under the new regime than expected but is out to land even more. He's out to impress in training and when the big opportunities come, he knows he needs to grab them with both hands. Devine has also hailed all his Rangers team-mates as 'great role models' both on and off the pitch and being around top level players every day has really helped up his own game.

He told the Scottish Sun: “It was difficult at the start of the season. I wasn’t getting a lot of minutes then the new manager came in and I was playing regularly.

“Since Michael Beale came in I’ve had more minutes than I’d expected. [Borna] Barisic and [James] Tavernier are playing well, it’s hard to get into the team.

“I just need to show the gaffer what I’m capable of in training, and when I get my opportunities I need to take them and play as well as I can.

“If you do well in training then the manager has got belief in you. When you’re young it’s difficult to play regularly, but that’s what I want to be doing at Rangers.

“All the boys have been great with me and they are all great role models on and off the pitch. Training with them every day is only going to help me when I play.”
