WASHINGTON _ End Citizens United PAC has dropped $770,000 on an ad in Missouri hitting Republican Sen. Roy Blunt for his family members being lobbyists.
The will air on broadcast and cable in St. Louis and Kansas City from Wednesday until Sept. 27.
The ad contrasts that with the record of Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander, Blunt's Democratic challenger, who the ad says enlisted and deployed to Afghanistan as an intelligence officer.
Conversely, the ad points to Blunt's votes to protect his pay raise in the Senate and that his house in Washington cost $1.6 million. It also says his wife and three of his children are lobbyists.
End Citizens United PAC is dedicated to ending the use of outside money in politics and Kander is one of its endorsed candidates.
Kander has also been able to raise a prodigious amount of money, reporting more than $3.7 million in cash on hand in his last Federal Election Commission report. Still, for that same period, Blunt reported more than $6.6 million in cash on hand.
The Rothenberg & Gonzales/Roll Call recently changed the rating of the race from Republican Favored to Leans Republican.
