Actor Thomas Middleditch finds a home with history in Hollywood Hills

May 02--Actor, writer and comedian Thomas Middleditch, who stars in the HBO series "Silicon Valley," has bought a house in Hollywood Hills for $1.5 million.

Set up from the street behind fences and mature trees, the 1920s French villa-style home was once owned by Emmy-winning art director Charles Lisanby and his partner, costume designer Richard Bostard.

An arched front door flanked by two pillars sets an Old World tone. Inside, the roughly 2,100 square feet of space have vivid hues, textured wall treatments, original moldings and large Palladian windows.

A great room has a cathedral-style ceiling and a grand fireplace with a stone hearth, and a formal dining room opens to the kitchen area. Three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms include an upstairs master suite with a dressing room.

French doors off the main floor open to an intimate courtyard with rows of columns and a fountain feature. Across from the home, above a two-car garage, is a studio space with a rooftop deck.

The house previously changed hands in 1979 for $174,000, property records show.

Joe Reichling and Boni Bryant of Sotheby's International Realty were the listing agents. Peter Reyes of Keller Williams Realty represented the buyer.
