‘ACs keep running even when nobody is home’: American woman’s India-US comparison sparks debate

An American woman living in India has shared a video describing the differences between India and the United States in the use of air conditioners, highlighting how electricity costs and housing systems influence cooling habits in both countries.

In the video, she said air conditioners in India are generally used sparingly, with many households cooling only one room at a time. She added that AC units are often switched off when people leave the room in order to conserve electricity.
